The Best Beach Clubs on the French Riviera

For decades, the French Riviera has been a haven for the wealthy and famous, with Cannes and Antibes hosting the Fitzgeralds and Picasso, Nice hosting Russian Tsars, and Monaco hosting the world’s wealthiest families. The Riviera is an ideal destination for enjoying the art of living in France, with warm summers and mild winters. Nothing beats the coast’s beach clubs, from the iconic ones on La Croisette to the more relaxed ones in St Tropez.

La Guérite

La Guérite, one of Cannes’ most exclusive beach clubs, can only be reached by boat, making it a prized trophy for most yachtsmen. Originally a simple beach restaurant for local sailors, the venue has since evolved into one of the Riviera’s most vibrant hotspots, complete with an extravagant atmosphere and an impressive playlist. The champagne showers begin around 16pm and last until the sun goes down! Renting a boat in Cannes and spending the morning lazing in the sun between the islands before heading to the party is the best way to fully appreciate la Guérite.

Carlton Beach Club

One of the most elegant beach clubs on the Croisette is also one of the oldest. The Carlton Beach Club was renovated in 2022 and now has a retro 1960s vibe. Sip expertly crafted Aperol Spritz and enjoy true gastronomic cuisine from renowned French chefs in one of the most refined spots in Cannes’ bay. Arriving by boat is made easier by the pier.

Anjuna

The closest beach club to Monaco is also one of the most popular due to its vibrant atmosphere and bobo-chic decor. The rich and famous of the Principality come to enjoy an afternoon of partying with their feet in the water. For visiting boats, the club arranges a tender so that guests can arrive in comfort. Anjuna Beach is a true gem, perfectly located in the bay of Eze.

Plage Keller

Keller, on the other hand, is a sanctuary of refinement and fine dining. A renowned chef prepares some of the finest delicacies at the beach restaurant. On the menu is traditional Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist. The bay in front of the beach is a protected area with crystal clear waters that create a true paradise on Earth.

Club 55

The Pampelonne Beach Club is self-explanatory. One of St Tropez’s most famous clubs’ relaxed atmosphere and vibrant mood make it ideal for a late afternoon lunch and lazing in the Mediterranean sun. The pristine sand and turquoise waters complement the restaurant, which is a Provencal coast hidden gem.
